The epic saga Kingdom is returning to television with its sixth season this fall. Scheduled to premiere in October 2025, the anime revealed a brand-new trailer this week, showcasing dramatic visuals and introducing several new characters who will play key roles in the upcoming arc.
Story Synopsis
Based on Yasuhisa Hara’s long-running manga, Kingdom tells the story of Xin (Shin), a war orphan whose dream is to become the greatest general under heaven. Season 6 adapts the Western Zhao Invasion Arc, one of the most ambitious storylines in the manga. With rival states clashing, politics turning ruthless, and the fate of Qin hanging in the balance, Shin and his comrades face their toughest battles yet.

The new season will premiere on October 4, 2025, on NHK General TV. The trailer not only confirms the release date but also highlights fresh additions to the cast and teases the new opening and ending themes. The animation is once again produced by Studio Pierrot and Studio Signpost, ensuring continuity with previous seasons.

New Cast & Returning Staff
Season 6 introduces new characters voiced by Kōji Takeda (Ako), Dai Matsumoto (Mako), Shinnosuke Tachibana (Akakin), Yoshino Nanjō (Kitari), and Masaaki Mizunaka (Katari). These warriors will join Shin’s campaign and bring new dynamics to the battlefield.
Behind the scenes, the creative team remains strong: Kenichi Imaizumi directs, with Noboru Takagi handling series composition and Hisashi Abe designing the characters. Music will once again be provided by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kōhta Yamamoto, ensuring the score matches the grandeur of the war-torn setting.
