From Strategy to Swords: A New Fantasy Epic Begins

A powerful creative duo is joining forces for a brand-new manga series. Ya Boy Kongming! writer Yuto Yotsuba and Assassin’s Pride illustrator Yoshie Kato have launched a new fantasy manga titled Gokurakugai Suikoden – Hell Paradise Chronicles in the September issue of Monthly Comic Alive, released on August 27.

This marks the first collaboration between the two talents, blending Yotsuba’s knack for clever narratives with Kato’s sharp, dynamic art. The series promises a fresh take on fantasy action, centered around samurai, demons, and supernatural warlords.

Story Synopsis

Gokurakugai Suikoden is set in a world where the balance between the human and spirit realms is maintained by a secretive order of warriors known as the “Sealed Edge Sect.” These warriors, half-exorcists and half-assassins, are tasked with eliminating rogue spirits and demonic forces that threaten the mortal world.

The story follows Raikō, a young man with a hidden bloodline and a forbidden sword, and Hana, a spirited young girl with a mysterious connection to the spirit realm. Together, they journey across the fractured provinces of a war-torn land, facing off against corrupted monks, ancient curses, and their own haunted pasts.

Blending elements of Chinese folklore, samurai epics, and modern dark fantasy, Gokurakugai Suikoden is expected to deliver a richly layered world full of dramatic battles, spiritual mystery, and character-driven storytelling.
